Description
An old Japanese plum cultivar selected by Luther Burbank from plant material originating in Japan. Introduced in the late nineteenth century, it was one of the early Japanese plum selections that contributed to the development of modern plum production in North America. It is known for early bearing, heavy crops and good-quality fruit.

Sweety purplish-red plumLarge, round fruit with dark red to reddish skin and firm yellow flesh. The flesh is juicy, sweet and aromatic. The fruit is primarily suited to fresh eating but can also be used for canning, jams and other processing. Quebec sources report ripening from late August to early September.
