Description
'Wealthy' is an old American apple cultivar selected in Minnesota by Peter Gideon and introduced around 1868. It originated from 'Duchess of Oldenburg' × 'Jonathan' and is historically recognized for its excellent hardiness. It produces medium-sized, red-striped apples with white, juicy, crisp and tart flesh. The fruit is versatile and suitable for fresh eating, sauce, cooking, juice and cider.

White to pinkish-white blossoms. Wealthy is a mid-season flowering cultivar but is triploid and produces sterile pollen. Blooming time : from may to beginning of june
Fruits
Medium-sized, round to round-oblate apples with a greenish-yellow base and prominent red to carmine striping. White, juicy, crisp and pleasantly tart flesh with a complex, aromatic flavour. Suitable for fresh eating, sauce, cooking and cider.
